February is Age Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD) and Low Vision awareness month.
The macula is the part of the retina responsible for our central, most clear vision. In ARMD, deposits form behind the macula cause blurry and distorted vision.
ARMD can be both Dry and Wet. Transition from Dry to Wet Macular degeneration causes severe and irreversible vision loss. It is, therefore, very important to have regular eye exams to check the health of your retina and macula.
