Retinoblastoma is a rare cancer of the eye that typically affects children between birth and five years of age. The incidence of Retinoblastoma is one in 15,000 live births, with about 23 children being affected in Canada each year.
It is imperative that Retinoblastoma is diagnosed at an early stage. Some of the signs of Retinoblastoma include a white pupil, eye turn, or a wondering eye. An eye exam at 6 month of age and then age at 3 years of age (and every year after that) is recommended to rule-out Retinoblastoma.
